Pictured is the kinetic metal sculptures of famous artist and sculptor Starr Kempf (1917–1995). They were on display outside the home and visible from the road located in Colorado Springs. Each sculpture reportedly took up to 3 years to complete and are each one of a kind.

This week’s photo is of a famous mountain known officially as the Checkerboard Mesa. It’s made up of Navajo sandstone and 2 lines that form an easily viewed checkerboard pattern. Located on the East side of the Zion National Park in Southern Utah.

Another scorching hot day in Arizona, another adventure to somewhere new. Montezuma Castle National Monument, located just under 100 miles north of Phoenix, Arizona. This might be the most well preserved cliff dwellings in the entire country.

“Hammock Island”, one of many destinations on the map at the Xel-Ha aquatic park, dubbed the world’s largest natural aquarium. Xel-ha is located a short drive south of Playa del Carmen, in Quintana Roo, Mexico. Talk about relaxing in style!

This photo was shot on July 4th weekend 2010 during a road trip vacation to Northern Arizona that included visiting Horseshoe Bend, the famous Antelope Canyon, a tour of the Glen Canyon Dam, and of course some cooling off in the lake.
