This week’s featured photo is from Pelican Beach on South Water Caye, Belize. This is my favorite beach in all of Belize for it’s spectacular white sand and shallow clear water that surrounds it. It’s exactly the kind of place you dream up from the work desk at your office.

South Water Caye is a tiny 15-acre tropical island paradise and is part of the largest marine park in the country. With mangroves, sea grass, coral reefs and lots of pretty creatures to see there’s plenty of fun activities to do here as well. Personally, I find the remote beach to be so  calming all I wanted to do was walk along it or relax in a hammock. It’s also been part of the UNESCO World Heritage list of protected sites since 1996. If you’re planning a trip to Belize this stunning little island should be in strong consideration for a visit.
