Photo of the Week – California Sunset & Surfers
A beautiful sunset on New Year’s Eve at Imperial Beach, CA. Despite the cold California’s surfers were out in the water and enjoying the waves.

Happy new year everyone! I spent the last days of 2012 and the New Year’s holiday in San Diego, CA. This week’s photo was shot during my visit to the Zoo’s Safari Park (separate from the regular San Diego Zoo). This baby Gorilla’s name is Monroe and he put on a great show for everyone.
Pictures and videos from my visit to the annual Phoenix Zoolights event. Watch the music in motion show over the lake and check out the wild light displays included in some of the Zoolight’s 3.6 million lights.
This week’s photo is of the 12 foot waterfall at the Japanese Friendship Garden. Also known officially as Ro Ho En.
This week’s picture is of an old wagon in a field, with a small cabin in the distance. View the large high quality image for intricate detail in the wagon’s wooden wheel.
High quality pictures from my late afternoon trip to Santuario de Guadalupe as storm clouds rolled in. An adobe church in Santa Fe, New Mexico, over 200 years old it holds much historic and religious significance, and is the oldest shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Photos from my visit to Santa Fe’s Loretto Chapel. Built in 1878 and featuring the famous unusual helix shaped spiral staircase, the subject of so much mystery and allure a movie was made about it.
A spiny lizard sunbathes on the side of a rock. Picture taken in Southwest New Mexico. While hiking at the Gila Cliff Dwellings I stumbled across multiple lizards, their scales so spiky I found them to be very unique and interesting.
Photos from my visit to the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi, more commonly known as the St. Francis Cathedral church. It is located in downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico. With hundreds of years of history it’s a can’t miss on your visit to the city. It’s not Santa Fe’s only well known and culturally significant church either. More to come!
