This week’s photo is from one of my favorite parks I’ve ever visited – the Botanical building and reflecting lily pond located inside the amazing Balboa Park at San Diego, California.
An unexpectedly perfect day hiking and relaxing on the beach in San Diego’s Torrey Pines State Park and Preserve. It wasn’t too crowded, the scenery was beautiful and nature had been well preserved – all within a few minutes of downtown San Diego.
This week’s photo is of the old Point Loma lighthouse that sits atop 400-foot high cliffs within the Cabrillo National Monument and is a short drive from downtown San Diego, California.

I love visiting the country’s National Parks and Monuments and this one was a particular favorite of mine. Pictured is the limestone statue at Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego, California. Overlooking the city skyline and harbor from the Point Loma peninsula it was quite beautiful and worth the visit.
