This photo was shot on July 4th weekend 2010 during a road trip vacation to Northern Arizona that included visiting Horseshoe Bend, the famous Antelope Canyon, a tour of the Glen Canyon Dam, and of course some cooling off in the lake.
An adventure filled day that started on Ambergris Caye, headed up the Belize River wildlife spotting, ziplining the jungle canopy, and tubing through Belize’ amazing caves.
This is a photo shot on a hot day from Coolidge Dam just southeast of the small town Globe, AZ. This dam was named after the 30th U.S. president, Calvin Coolidge.

The MGM Grand’s lion exhibit always stood out to me as the most impressive. I was sad to hear they have closed the lion show down permanently and am grateful I was able to see it before it was gone. This photo was taken while the lions were being fed, and the trainer had purposely thrown sticky slices of raw meat onto the glass viewing panels. This male was truly an enormous, beautiful beast.
I’m back underwater and this time I’m sharing the sea with some dolphins! Checking another item off the bucket list after visiting Roatan; one of the Bay Islands in Honduras. Ever seen dolphins doing tricks while underwater instead of from the surface? Check out the video inside!
Horseshoe Bend is extremely beautiful and is a short side trip along the way to Lake Powell that doesn’t cost anything. Found just off highway 89, south of Page, AZ.
