Photo of the Week – White Sands National Monument

The spectacular White Sands National Monument located in Southern New Mexico. It’s late evening and the white sand dunes are simply breathtaking! I visited during my week-long road trip through the state in September 2012; unlike anything I’ve ever seen and this was easily the highlight of my trip. The area covers more than 275 square miles and is the biggest of it’s kind in the world.

Hiking Willis Creek Slot Canyon

After I visited the world famous Antelope Canyon a few years ago I instantly fell in love with the beauty and unique experience of being inside slot canyons. They are just one of nature’s creations that draw you in and get your imagination flowing. Photo of the Week – Ambergris Caye Beach Sunset

A sunset from the beach on Ambergris Caye, Belize’s largest island; located in the Caribbean ocean. Every night we sat out on the beach and enjoyed beautiful, picture perfect sunsets like this one; along with the sound of calm ocean waves splashing onto the beach. Normally I can’t stand to sit still long but it was very relaxing and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Roatan Scuba Diving: Swim-Throughs

One of the highlights of my week long trip to Roatan was diving the swim-throughs (underwater tunnels and caverns). Two of my favorites and the biggest of these were at the dive sites called the underground and the dolphin’s den located on the north-east side of the island.

Canoeing through Barton Creek Cave, Belize

Canoeing through Barton Creek Cave, Belize

Filled with mystery from the days the Mayans used it for rituals, I took a canoe through the popular Barton Creek Cave in the Cayo District of Belize. Regarded as one of the largest caves in the world at over 4.5 miles long and on land surrounded by Mennonites this day was a great adventure I’ll not soon forget.
